FASHION - Having a ball

| Frox |
Stretch limousines pull up in scores, students pouring out of them in a rainbow of exquisite dresses, chattering excitedly about the evening ahead. It is of course prom night - the most important night in every teenager's calendar, and one that many spend months planning for, carefully selecting the perfect dress and the most divine accessories to match.
Dedicating a whole floor of her boutique to such big events, with American designers such as Mori Lee, Rebecca Baddeley from The Dressing Rooms in Lapal, Halesowen believes that "There are no rules when it comes to choosing a style, we have over 200 in stock as it varies from area to area and school to school. To help clients find the perfect dress, we often do fundraiser fashion shows in schools for free, with the school able to raise money from ticket prices." Keen to offer something a little different, the store is even currently awaiting the arrival of fibre optic dresses, subtle designs operated by a discreet battery to give that extra sparkle.
Sarah Whittle of Frox at Bell End Farm, Belbroughton, who has recently moved to new premises due to increasing popularity, also has plenty to offer at this time of year in all shapes and sizes. Starting from a UK 4 up to 26, dresses are even available to hire for those on a tight budget. Alterations for the perfect fit are offered in store, while those who purchase their dresses receive their jewellery absolutely free.
Meanwhile Tina Mason of Aly Rose in Worcestershire, manages to escape disasters by promising not to sell two of the same dresses to the same school. "I love this time of year," she explains "I can only describe the girls as beautiful butterflies arriving in jeans and emerging from my changing rooms as glittering visions. I aim to provide a wide choice at a reasonable price, with added WOW factor.
"Whatever you do and whatever style you go for push the boat out," Rebecca Baddeley advises " It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and chances are you'll never get the chance to wear a prom dress again."
